Ikon Vs Epic – Calgary

Ikon Epic Calgary

Calgarians really get the shaft on this one. Neither Ikon nor Epic offer unlimited access to their resorts.
SkiBig3 (Lake Louise, Norquay, Sunshine): ~$115 CAD ($86 US) per day.
Revelstoke: ~$100 CAD ($75 US) per day.
Nakiska/Fernie/Kicking Horse/Kimberley: ~$80-100 CAD ($60-$75 US) per day
So if you used up the maximum amounts for Ikon, you would break even and save some money…but barely. Epic Pass by itself is also pretty terrible for locals.

If you are a visitor flying in, you are better off getting the Ikon Pass because you are likely going to be in Banff anyways. Lake Louise offers a much more oomph factor being part UNESCO Heritage site and all.

Revelstoke also has some of the steepest terrain for those who want a challenge.

On the other hand, the Epic resorts are not pushover either. Nakiska, Fernie, Kimberley, and Kicking Horse are all worth visiting. Kicking Horse and Fernie are huge resorts in their own rights and have over 140 runs.
